Man has the unique ability to remember events, people, things etc. This powerful ability enables us to function efficiently and effectively in the world. Have you ever wondered what would happen to a person who has lost his/her memory. Very often, he would resemble a ship left adrift in the ocean. He has no idea of his destination nor does he know the way.
In the Bible, many a times God commands His people, the Israelites “to remember". In the book of Deuteronomy, Moses admonishes the people to remember the miracles and the ways in which God rescued them from Egypt. Even Yeshua during his last supper, one of the last rituals that he wanted us to emulate, was laced with a commandment of do this in remembrance of me".
Therefore, it is necessary that we remind ourselves of God’s promises to us and also the ways in which he helped us in the past. Keep a journal for writing the promises and miracles/ encounters that you have experienced in your life. When you face with difficult and impossible situations in your life remind yourself of the promises and the ways God saved you in the past.
