Never stop growing

Recently, in a book that I read, the author related a fact that quite baffled me. And after researching the Bible, I discovered that there are two cherubs in the most Holy of Holies, where the presence of the Lord is paramount.

Well, isn’t that interesting? Why place two baby faced angels, with their wings covering the mercy seat? It is also said in the Word that the Lord spoke with the High Priest from above this mercy seat.

"......And there I will meet with thee, and I will commune with thee from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubim’s which are upon the ark of the testimony, of all things which I will give thee in commandment unto the children of Israel." (Exo 25: 20–22)

God could have suggested anything at all that was more majestic and superior-looking for the tabernacle. How did children come into a setting that represented the most Holy place? The answer lies in the fact that children have a quality that most of us adults have lost. They are receptive and eager to grow. They are excited to learn and willing to change. If you remember, even Jesus spoke highly of children. He tells us to be like little children who are humble enough to listen to others.

".....Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven." (Matthew 18:3–4)

So, I would like to encourage you to have a hunger to grow and learn every day. When the word of God speaks to us, we must be eager to listen and change ourselves and our situations. We should cultivate the habit of learning, so that we can do things better.

Many times, like children, we may stumble and fall and make a mess of things. And like a loving father who is patient with his children, our Heavenly Father also looks on lovingly on his son or daughter who is willing to rise and improve himself.

Prayer: Lord give me a child like heart to obey Your voice. Amen
